Description
Sodium Hypochlorite
Sodium Hypochlorite 14–15% is a high-strength chlorine solution used as an oxidizing agent, disinfectant, and bleaching chemical in industrial and municipal applications. The product is a pale yellow alkaline liquid with strong antimicrobial properties and effective broad-spectrum sanitation performance.
Storage Information
Store sodium hypochlorite solution (14–15%) in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, acids, ammonia, organic materials, and reducing agents. Keep containers tightly closed in corrosion-resistant materials such as HDPE, PVC, or FRP. Recommended storage temperature is typically below 25 °C to minimize decomposition and chlorine release. Protect from contamination and avoid contact with metals such as iron, copper, and nickel. Use secondary containment to prevent spills and ensure the area is equipped with appropriate safety and ventilation measures. Rotate stock regularly, as sodium hypochlorite gradually loses strength over time.
Safety Information
Sodium hypochlorite is a corrosive chemical and should be handled with care. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Use only in well-ventilated areas and wear appropriate protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection. Do not mix with acids, ammonia, or other cleaning chemicals, as dangerous chlorine gas may be released. Keep out of reach of children and store upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
